    Day 23/180 – Denmark – Walpole – Pemberton

Jackaroo Odometer – 246 886 Well I’m glad to have left Albany, not because I wasn’t having a good time but because I could have easily laid back for a month and not done a thing except surf! But time is pressing and 180 days is not a very long time. To see all of Australia in the time things

    Day 22/180 Albany

Jackaroo Odometer 246 809 Well a fairly laid back day today, really slipping into the Albany lifestyle. Its incredibly relaxing just chilling on the beach writing . The sands white as snow and there is a beach offshore what ever the winds are doing, always surf in the region! It must be 35 kts SW but is about 15 kts

    Day 21/180 Albany Coast

I woke to the sight of offshore winds and no shortage of swell was a pleasant change from the past few days. I was at Sand Patch some break 10 mins out of Albany which picks up swell like Johanna back in Victoria. It wasn’t bad but I was after quality so I headed down the road about an hour where

Day 20/180 – Fitzgerald National park – Stirling Rangers – Albany

Jackaroo Odometer – 246 193 Today was more driving then I would have liked. It started with awaking to the beautiful view from the back of the car out over the southern Ocean. It was breath taking to wake with sun shining brightly in the sky over calm blue water. Unfortunately the swell had totally disappeared to around 2ft and

    Day 19/180 – Balladonia – Norseman – Esperance

Jackaroo Odometer – 245 648 I should start with where I was this morning…. In the middle of the bush somewhere off the highway. I had full intentions of getting to Norseman but I didn’t quite make it, I couldn’t take the back road from Balladonia to Esperence because the guy said it was closed so I pulled over for

    Day 18/180 – Nullarbor Crossing

Jackaroo Odometer- 244 599 – 1049 km in one day Today was the Nullarbor Crossing and there is not much of note worth telling about in terms of Architecture, obviously. Although it seems there is a consistent effort towards renewable forms of energy in wind and solar stacked along the desert coastline. Its the perfect location for it… why not!

    Day 17/180 – Ceduna

Jackaroo Odometer – 244 590 As a result of pushing time and effort I have made it to Ceduna 2 days ahead of schedule! I’m so happy because I need a rest, I’m very tired from driving, surfing and riding. I might go as far as saying that heading west towards Espreance might be the best option after a full day rest

DAY 16/180 – Elliston, Streaky Bay

Jackaroo Odometer – 244130 Long day after a late night last night up a the pub, I went to sleep early knowing I have a big day ahead today. I also had lunch in Elliston and checked over the car… The fan belt is not running as smooth as I’d like because of the sand and salt it received in Coffin

Day 15/180 – Fisheries Bay to Coffin Bay

Jackaroo Odometer – 243 694 I started early this morning looking for waves; headed to Fisheries bay after surfing Shealter bay outside Port Lincoln. Surf was good so I made the call to head to Coffin bay national park again in the hope of scoring some emty perfect waves…. Didn’t work out for me! The 4×4 track was a little

    Day 14/180 – Fisheries Bay

Jackaroo Odometer – 243 694   Today has started slowly with a disappointing trip out to Fisheries bay. I can see the potential just like the Coffin Bay national Park but again the swell size failed to deliver any quality waves. Unfortunately no swell is expected so I planned on getting the bull/roo-bar completed for the next part of the trip across

Day 13/180 – Port Lincoln Ray Day

Jackaroo Odometer – 243 680   I wasn’t expecting much for today except a day at the races. I got much more then that! I was a community event with plenty of local identities making that day one to remember. As you can see form the photo’s the ladies looked fantastic and enjoyed the fashions on the field. I arrive quite early

Day 11/180 – Coffin Bay National Park to Port Lincoln

Jackaroo Odometer – 243 430   Unlike yesterday I wasn’t holding out hope of finding any special waves, especially since I knew the swell was dropping away until Friday.  I made the trip to reef point from the camp ground where I’d stayed last night only to find little in the way of swell. The swell had totally backed off
